Preventative Dental Services

maintain your pristine smile

Taking good care of your teeth and gums now can mean less unwanted dental problems in the future. Dr. Ponkowski prioritizes good oral health through dental cleanings, exams, x-rays, scaling, root-planing and more. We prefer to catch issues before they turn into more serious conditions.

Our dental team recommends you visit our office to receive a professional dental cleaning every six months in addition to your oral hygiene practices performed at home. During this cleaning appointment we carefully remove any plaque and calculus, polish each tooth and floss.

At every checkup appointment it is also important for the dentist to thoroughly examine your teeth and gums. The exam provides a great time to check for tooth decay, gum disease, infections and oral cancer.

Restorative & Cosmetic Dental Services

ENhance your pristine smile

Our dental practice uses advanced tools and equipment in state-of-the-art clinical settings to address our patients’ problems and maintain their oral health. Our comprehensive restorative and cosmetic dental services include:

Restorative

  • Missing teeth can take a toll on not only your oral health, but your mental well-being as well. Boost your confidence and skip dentures with long-lasting dental implants. We help restore dental implants.

  • A vulnerable tooth, whether from a root canal or injury, requires protection to prevent further breakage or the introduction of new decay. Dental crowns are tooth-shaped “caps” placed over teeth to restore shape, size, strength, and overall appearance.

  • When one or more teeth are lost, a noticeable gap is created. This can make eating and speaking difficult while also putting you at risk for further bone or tooth loss. A dental bridge can, quite literally, “bridge” the gap left by missing teeth and help you smile confidently around others.

  • Do you feel pain in your tooth or notice gum sensitivity or swelling? You could be in need of root canal therapy. Our dentist will carefully remove the infected or damaged pulp from inside the tooth, reseal it, and place a dental crown if necessary.

  • No one wants to hear that they need a tooth removed but sometimes it’s necessary when the tooth is past the point of saving. Our dentist will recommend tooth extraction if there is extensive decay, advanced gum disease, a dental abscess, or another condition that prevents the use of other restorative procedures.

Cosmetic

  • Whether a few or all of your natural teeth are gone, our dentist can provide you with either removable full or partial dentures. Once properly fitted inside your mouth, dentures can give you back the ability to chew and talk comfortably. Both consist of false teeth attached to a gum-colored base connected by a metal framework that rests on top of your natural gumline.

  • It used to be that when you had a cavity filled, the obvious metal on your teeth after the procedure was proof to the world. Now, our dentist uses tooth-colored fillings made of composite resin for a low-key alternative to traditional metal amalgam fillings. Thanks to their durability, tooth-colored fillings can be used to treat cavities on front and back teeth.

  • Get your brightest, whitest smile!
